Santa Barbara harrassment

To the sexist jerks who yelled out "Show us your tits! Show us your
cans!" to the woman driving next to their White Ford Explorer
(California license plate number 5EWL017) yesterday at Storke &
Hollister, this behavior is NOT OK.

Using that language with someone you don't know is clearly offensive,
and I'm sure you have mothers/sisters/lovers/friends who you would not
want to be treated that way. To harass a woman verbally is still a
VIOLENT act and she could be deeply hurt by what you did. (For
instance, you don't know what kind of traumas she may have
experienced that could be made worse by what you did. Over one in six
American women are victims of sexual assault - see

For those in the car who did not stop the ringleaders, you are also to
blame but can still speak up and tell your friends they were wrong.

To anyone who knows the driver and his friends, or identifies this car
driving around Santa Barbara, please pass on this message in whatever
way you feel is appropriate.

Thank you.

Talk about an over reaction. I mean sure, the guys were rude...but to start blaming them b/c of some issue the woman MIGHT have due POSSIBLY being sexually assualted in her life? This just sounds like an angry post that has little to do with objectification.

I'm from there too, and unfortunately we get a lot of drunk assholes. Thanks for the heads-up!

Well "anonymous" These comments could affect her whether or not she's been sexually assaulted in her life. Say she found out her grandmothers in the hospital and she's on her way to go see her... having some horrible slurs yelled at her as she's walking down the street could be one last thing that pushes her to tears. I think we can all relate to sick grandmas, unless that is, you are totally heartless or never had a grandma.

As far as being sexually assaulted, most men have never been sexually assaulted and therefore have no idea what it would feel like. You clearly have no idea what your talking about.

Keep the damn comments to yourself. Its disrespectful whether or not she's been sexually assaulted.

Dear Anonymous,

You obviously don't know the definition of objectification.
